Laminated Veneer Lumber

LVL’s (Laminated Veneer Lumber) are manufactured from veneers that are rotary peeled, dried and laminated together under heat and pressure with an adhesive. As LVL’s are a manufactured product, it can be made to very large dimensions. For most applications they are intended to provide a structural function only as the surface finish is of low visual quality. They are often used for high strength applications, structural roof members such as strutting beams, hanging beams, valleys, hips, rafters and ridge beams and also for formwork. LVL’s are not recommended for use in areas which are permanently exposed to the weather. See our LVL section for further details.
