Structural Pine

Softwood timbers are manufactured predominantly from kiln dried Radiata Pine. Structural pine is strong and dimensionally stable. Low moisture content stabilises radiata pine, minimising distortion and dimensional changes. Drying improves strength, stiffness and nail holding. It is accurately dimensioned and is light easy to handle timber.

Radiata Pine originated on the West coast of North America and has since been widely planted in South Africa, Chile, New Zealand and Australia.

Applications for structural Radiata pine include general construction, joinery, flooring, panelling, plywood, particleboard, fibreboard and paper. Radiata Pine structural sizes are planer-gauged to actual dimensions and supplied seasoned / dried. No under size, but a maximum over-size tolerance of 3mm is permitted.
